Theobald Wolfe Tone
Theobald Wolfe Tone, founder of the United Irishmen is commemorated in St Stephen's Green, Trinity College Library and there is a portrait of him in Leinster House.
Theobald Wolfe Tone (1763– 1798) was born at 44 Wolfe Tone Street Dublin and baptised in St Mary's Church, Mary Street. He attended Trinity College Dublin and he also founded the United Irishmen. He was buried in Bodenstown Churchyard, west of Clane, County Kildare.
A monument to him stands in St Stephen's Green, a bust in Trinity College Library and a portrait in Leinster House. Mary Street churchyard has also been laid out to his memory.
