Myrtleville, Crosshaven, Cork, Republic of Ireland
Bellevue B&B is a large, two-storey home set in beautiful surroundings overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, and just outside the quaint village of Myrtleville near Crosshaven in County Cork.
Built in 1910,the original bungalow has been extended and re-designed to the modern two storey house it is today. The purpose built Bed Breakfast offers rooms with en-suite bathrooms and individually appointed décor, which includes Queen, Twin and King double rooms, some with ocean view.
Bellevue overlooks the entrance to Cork harbour, where the most famous ship ever –the TITANIC – anchored just off Roches Point in April 1912(celebrating 100 years in 2012) before it sailed on its first(maiden) and ill-fated only voyage.123 boarded Titanic by tender from Cobh, most never to survive the journey.
Today cruise ships from all over the world visit Cork harbour every year, replacing the luxury liners of yester-year on which the rich and famous travelled until the late 1950s.
Bellevue’s conservatory(winter garden) has a magnificent indoor grape-vine adding a lovely feature to the breathtaking view of the Atlantic ocean.
There are several walks along the coast plus 2 beaches within a short walking distance. other activities include Golf (20 courses nearby) Angling,Horse-riding, Kayaking and Sailing.
Fort Camden, a coastal fort dating back to the 16th century has been re-opened to the public and is a great addition to local amenities.
Pubs and Restaurants are within walking distance and Myrtleville is an ideal base to tour East&West Cork.
