The Beara Peninsula route covers wild seascapes, amazing scenery and equally amazing visitor attractions such as Bantry House and Gardens, Garinish Island, Dzogchen Beara Retreat Centre and Allihies Copper Mine Museum. On this route you will pass through colourful villages and the major fishing port of Castletownbere. Dursey Island is located at the extreme south westerly tip of the Beara Peninsula and access is by way of cable car. The Healy Pass winds its way through the Caha Mountains, the backbone of the Beara Peninsula.
