An Stór Tourist Hostel is a comfortable budget accommodation found in the town of Midleton, which is located just 20km east of Cork City. The hostel’s owners, Frank and Maria Murphy, cater to groups, families and independent travellers. The building was formerly a wool store, but was refurbished and opened as a hostel in 1995. It includes self-catering and serviced kitchens as well as a free car park.
All bedrooms are ensuite and provide a variety of double, twin and family bed arrangements with bed linen and towels included. Many rooms have double beds while some rooms retain traditional bunks. A cot can be provided on request. Laundry and ironing facilities as well as a hairdryer are also provided.
The comfortable sitting room provides a relaxed opportunity to chat, watch TV, play board games or read. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is also provided in the room. All guests are invited to share the generous continental breakfast in the dining room, while the self-catering kitchen allows guests a dining choice. The dining room seats a minimum of 20 with groups welcome. Wi-Fi access is available in all public areas.
Midleton is an ideal base for visiting all the highlights of East Cork, such as Youghal, Cobh and Lismore. The area boasts miles of Blue Flag beaches, cliff walks, and golf facilities.
