Larne is the start of the famous and very beautiful A2 coastal route, giving the tourist access to some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. One of the most modern roll on/roll off ferry ports in the United Kingdom, Larne makes an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful countryside of County Antrim. The Borough boasts two of the famous nine glens of Antrim - Glenarm and Glencloy . Carnfunnock Country Park is a magnificent attraction comprising of country walks, a maze, 9 hole par 3 golf course, children's activity centre, camping and caravan park, time garden and collection of sundials. Also gift shop and coffee shop. The Park is packed full of exciting and unusual attractions to see and do, with over 473 acres of mixed woodland, colourful gardens, ponds, walking trails, beaches and coastline, not forgetting its spectacular panoramic views of the Antrim Coast and North Channel. As the starting point for any exploration, we recommend a trip to the Larne Tourist Information Centre just behind the town's Main Street.
The Centre is open all year round and services available include an automated all Ireland accommodation service, free local and national information, a bureau de change, e-mail, fax and photocopying facilities and an audio-visual presentation.
