The five-star Knockree Youth Hostel is a high-quality accommodation that reopened in 2008 after undergoing an extensive renovation. Situated right on the "Wicklow Way" the hostel is based in a tranquil part of County Wicklow, near Enniskerry and overlooking the Glencree Mountains.
Situated along the Wicklow Way walking route, the five-star Knockree Hostel reopened in April 2008 after an extensive refurbishment. The original hostel was an 18th century farmhouse and boasts a pleasant location at the bottom of Knockree, overlooking the Glencree Mountains.
The hostel, which is popular with hikers, families and youth groups, can accommodate up to 76 people in a variety of ensuite and standard rooms, including family rooms and a honeymoon suite. Many rooms have spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Knockree Hostel, which is wheelchair accessible, also has a meeting room, large capacity dining hall, drying room, laundry, restaurant for groups (on request), TV room, self-catering kitchen and car park. Guests can make use of free Wi-Fi in public areas and bicycle rentals for exploring the region on two wheels.
Knockree is situated just 7km from the lovely village of Enniskerry. Enniskerry is home to the famous Powerscourt Estate, is one of the prettiest Victorian villages in Ireland. It is an ideal location for an activity-based vacation, with many opportunities for walking, fishing, horse riding and water sports.
