The Mill,in Dunfanaghy in County Donegal, was built between 1880-1900 by the Stewards of Ards who were the landlords at that time. In 1949 it was purchased by Frank Egginton, the well known water-colour artist, who converted it and lived there until his death in 1990. Now after being tastefully enlarged and modernised, it is the home of his grand-daughter and her family.
The Mill Restaurant is a small friendly restaurant offering a relaxing but efficient service. Dinner is served between 7pm and 9pm, Tuesday to Sunday. The dinner menu changes seasonally using fresh produce from the local area. Derek and his small team produce food with a modern Irish flavour, with an emphasis on local seafood and shellfish.
