RUN, DON'T WALK! The liquidation sale started today at 12pm in Suffolk St, clearing out everything, the queues are mental but the only time i have ever bought anything there. Bring cash as the queues to pay by card are circa one hour. It ends on Monday!!

To comment 15:
I'd like to say that the customer service in Galway must be way above the Dublin store. Even the - so-called - manager that I dealth with was virtually un-interested in making a sale or showing the slightest bit of interest in my delivery problem .... which was actually THEIR delivery problem! Bad manners were encountered from the day that 'she who must be obeyed' decided to buy something from Habitat.
To Comment 4:
If Habitat owns IKEA - I won't be going there. I want a bit of manners when I'm forking out my hard earned cash - and managers

I am not surprised that Habitat closed down.It has been uninspiring for years.About 10 or so years ago they were leaders but then stayed the same.I often went in an had alook around but was never tempted to part with me money.I heard Avoca will persue the building.COOL

Galway staff were lovely, efficient and friendly - hope you are all soon recognised for your excellent qualities and reemployed ASAP. I think the biggest problem for the Galway store was location - no one wants to sit in city center traffic and then pay for parking just to browse - and I have never managed to leave Habitat Galway without buying something!!! Interestingly Next is opening a new store in knocnacarra soon , which will include a sizeable homestore - I'm sure it will do well , easy parking and straigthforward to get to.There might be some job opportunities there guys.Any news on the possibility of habitat having a liquidation sale.

IMO Habitat is a loss and a reduction in choice is never a good thing. But staff and management very poor standard in Dublin-franchising here obviously didnt work. No follow through for customers. This & poor marketing can't have helped their results&profits

It would be nice if the NCA was as vocal on this issue as they were with Aer Lingus on the mis-priced flights issue.

Mary I'm not sure what the status of people who have placed and paid for orders is. All the company will say on that matter is the following: "Any customer with an outstanding order will be formally notified in due course."

re Habitat -- are people who paid for goods (and therefore had a specific sale contract with Habitat) in the same boat as those with vouchers, or have we any additional rights/protection? We were waiting on a load of shelving due last week. Guess we may just have to drive up to Ikea now, after all.

Kevin - I have been onto the NCA myself and am awaiting a response. This is something I think they should take up on behalf of affected consumers.
