Thanks Conor, I just got a phone call about it on Friday looking for the money. I asked them to send the details on so I can find out exactly what it is for.

It is a 4 night Galapagos trip, with flights from Quito to the islands before and after. The agent specifically said the surcharge was for the boat trip though.

It was booked with Peregrine Adventures via Trailfinders in Dublin.

RC - Fuel tax for a boat trip? Have never come across this before. Is it a long cruise? And if you tell me who the agent is, I can look into it.

the european commission is talking nonsense. if you dont like the price of the ticket dont buy it. the airlines are not holding a gun to your head.at the end of the booking process a full price is quoted and you can take it or leave it.

On a somewhat related matter, I have today been asked to pay an extra €65 per person fuel tax for a boat tour I'm taking this summer in South America.

This comes after I have paid for the trip - any advice on where I stand here?

Thanks
