		<description>I understood that these markets are subsidised by the local authorities, so given that the much-maligned middleman has been eliminated, the prices should surely be far more competitive.  And why don't the local authorities have someone visit these markets and ensure that they comply with specific guidelines on what is allowed and what is not?   Can't be so hard to define that, can it?</description>
