Just on the medicines item - low dose aspirin is (or was when I last asked) only available (in Boots in Ireland) as a 28 tablet pack for ~€6. In Boots UK a 100 tablet pack in ~€2. Tne reason for the difference? Low dose aspirin is available in Ireland on prescription under the GMS. The 'deal' by the HSE for the packaging/price is for the 28 tablet pack. So, technically, the Govt is right, Boots could sell the 100 tablet pack here but of course they don't. It is, in effect, a Govt implemented restraint of trade.
