Unblogged

Filed under: Uncategorized — Jim Carroll @ 12:58 pm

I’m away from the computer screen for the next 10 days or so and will not be updating the blog during this time.

Comments will be updated (big thanks to Conor) so please keep talking amongst yourselves. You can use this post to connect with your favourite randomers, discuss Tom Waits or work out just why there are as many gigs happening in June as in May.

Normal service resumes on May 15. Or May 16. Depends on the weather.

no jim don’t go we need you. heineken’s love affair with the gig goer is over. they may have reduced the price of the hercules & love affair tickets but over the weekend their pints were €6 at dublin castle. PISS TAKING off the highest order

Well I’ll go first then with the Tom Waits news. He just mentioned ‘Spain to Dublin’ when he was asked if he’d be touring Europe at the press conference. No actual dates yet. Nice constellation touring method he’s got going there.

    Nick Cave gig…
What was the exchange about with some punter and Nick half way through the gig.

I thought his mood went a little downhill after that?

before he said”you’re the most embarresing part of my career”? Apparently it was when some young one yelled” I LOVE YOU”.I didn’t hear this, but apparently my 2 cousins did, turned to each other and used my name, assuming it was me being a twit.

new oxegen announcement ain’t too bad, some decent acts, although some awful rubbish, plenty of the usual festival fodder too. the dance tent lineup is abysmal though, David Guetta and Justice headlining…i suppose they’re big names for people who don’t really know anything about dance music though. UNKLE aren’t exactly the band they used to be either…

EP seems to have given up on producing a great lineup at this stage. although i suppose it’s more of a boutique festival for 20/30-something office workers to go mad for the weekend and have some noodles and do a pottery class, than it is a music festival anymore.

Even in your absence you can predict exclusives 7 weeks in advance.

Bravo Jim, your predications were spot on almost to the day.

Now, when you get back can you tell me what you think the winning 6 plus bonus will be?
