prefab sprout, certainly a good call, but of all the songs, where the heart is? i have to admit to having a sneaky liking for it, but i thought you’d be above such saccharinity!:-) i really have to stop working on saturday nights so i can listen to the show..

ciaran - “Where The Heart Is” is just a smidgin over 2 mins long and I needed a track of that length because the stupid song I meant to end the show with was on a CD which I had left at home (I had the CD box but no CD). Bet you wished you had never asked!

Next week, try and play either “Faron Young” or “Carnival 2000″ or “Goodbye Lucille #1″ (Johnny Johnny). Ending the show with a Paddy McAloon penned song will finish the 2 hours on a high dude!

    alright jim,
not writing with regard to your playlist, but ya fair play, looks like it sounded good!
my issue is whether phantom will ever cross the shannon. i’ll hold my hands up here and tell ya i don’t have the foggiest as to the running of broadcasting networks…but were all gagging here in the west for some good airwaves!! tell ye’r bosses to up and move to the sticks!! we’re not all big tom fans down here i tell thee!!!

adrian - at the moment, it’s a Dublin-only station on FM but it is available online to the whole darn world. I’m sure the station may apply for a national licence if a suitable one ever arises (check http://www.bci.ie for info on that). However, for now, it’s a Dublin-only one - albeit one I’ve tuned into as far away as Drogheda and Monasterevin. As someone who comes from, er, the bog, I know there are plenty people who dig more than Big Tom & his Mainliners.
