    You’re giving me ideas.

Thank you Bobby. It would have been nice to have been nominated, but I don’t think any of the judges, except Leagues O’Toole, have any idea who I am. I made your list, dude, and that is more than enough for me.

Lots of good albums there, my personal favourites would be Cathy Davey, Roisin Murphy and Delorentos. Shame Hybrasil didn’t get a nod. delighted for Kila, would have been very easy to overlook them. looking forward to the night.
Put a fiver on Cathy Davey!

hmm.. what a good list.. If I was betting I’d bet on Roisin Murphy or Super Extra Bonus Party or The Flaws or Dry County or Cathy Davey… but really just Roisin Murphy - criminally under looked by everyone, Choice won’t let her down!

Have to agree with Bobby on this one. They’re the two unfortunate ommissions for me. I think Stanley Super 800 are the dark horse of the pack.

Thanks for all the comments folks

Just on the bands who didn’t make it. There will always be omissions by virtue of the fact that it is a list of 10 albums. If it was 20 albums, there would also be omissions. The judges have spoken (I always wanted to say that).

It’s a very well-rounded list Jim, and great to see such a varied judging panel, it makes it harder to call. I reckon it’s between Cathy Davey, Adrian Crowley and Delorentos.

I second the absence of So Cow and Mumblin’ Deaf Ro.

I think you’d have to say it’s a fairly comprehensive list.
Personally, I’d like to see Adrian Crowley win. As great as Cathy Davey’s album undoubtably is, she’s already received a huge amount of attention for it, Adrian Crowley deserves to be hailed too. His album really is superb.

Ooh, it’s good to see the judges will know their stuff.
Didn’t expect to find Stanley Super 800 or Kila there. I will *not* put money on Roisin M, and will probably lose money as a result…

Delighted to see Kíla there, twud be super if they won. Not a bad list given all the talk of a seemingly dull year. Cela dit, it’s a big shame Somadrone didn’t feature, they’d have been my tip.

Fantastic line-up this year, great to see Kila included, but I agree with Conor @ 18 would be nice to see a band like The Flaws or SS800 win…..I’m sure the publicity (and the cash!) would be much appreciated.

I think it’s a bit silly to suggest that an album shouldn’t win because it’s already had lots of attention. Surely the criteria for the winning album is simply the best album released during 2007 and not a pity vote for someone who might deserve their turn in the spotlight? On that basis, I reckon Cathy Davey should win - regardless of how much she’s already (deservedly, in my opinion) been lauded.

i have the super stanley 800 album (or is it stanley super 800) and i don’t think it deserves to be nominated. i felt it had some rehashes of their first album (moonlight, voices in the music)

if i was going to replace it, mumblin deaf ro would be the ovious guy. he made an excellent album

for me, i think SEBP should win though i think Dry County was also an excellent album
