The year may be drawing to a close, but there are still some thrilling new Irish albums on the way.

On The Record has spent this week enthusing about Galwayman Adrian Crowley’s fourth album “Long Distance Swimmer” to anyone who will listen.

While it may be released very late in the year, it would be a huge shame if an album of such peerless quality gets lost in the post-Christmas rush.

“Long Distance Swimmer” is released on December 7 on Tin Angel Records.

It’s genius. Head and shoulders above most stuff that came out this year.

A Pedantic Reader Writes: or even lost in the PRE-Christmas rush. But January can be quite wild too, what with all that tumbleweed blowing through venues… ;D (Haven’t heard the album yet, hope it’s as good as his other records)

aidan - problem is a lot of people have very short-term memories so a December release is often disregarded with the turkey leftovers by January.

It is very good indeed, not sure about Genius but very good. Deserves to chart high in the album poll but a late release means it probably won’t.
