  • Tune of the Week - “Sunrise”

Yes, yes, you do have room in your head for one more new band before December comes along.

Their name is Yeasayer, their album is called “All Hour Cymbals” and their sound is wonderfully freaky. I saw some of their set at SXSW earlier in the year and wrote their name down to check out again. Naturally, I lost that list.

Yeasayer hail from Brooklyn and they have more good ideas than most bands who hang out in that ‘hood. Their sound is spacey, smart, widescreen, dramatic, psychedelic and arty. I could keep adding words to that last sentence for another few minutes, but you probably get the idea. They’ve certainly got David Byrne’s digits at this stage of the game.

    Download “Sunrise” and enjoy.

Best intentions came a cropper when faced with a couple of pressing deadlines. It will return, er, soon.
