Maaaaaan, Citizens of Tomorrow is fucking brilliant. Very good choice there Jimbo.

Tiger Force are being lined up to play a certain Indie Night in the new year.

Well, that’s not all true. You have a artist listed there who I just fucking hate really. He played on Saturday night in Kennedy’s.

Have got to say, Biffy Clyro and Foals were awesome supporting the Bloc in the Big Top.

you’re too young to appreciate the wonders of Voice of the 7 Woods.

    What were the Bloc like?

Nah, it’s a little too weird for me.

They were pretty damn good. It was their biggest ever headline show, which was surprising.

The best part of the night for me was when they came on to do their encore and their new equipment fucked up. Gordy had some electronics in front of them and it didn’t work. There was a lot of standing around, roadies running on trying to sort it, Kele chatting nonsense to the crowd (and getting more pissed off at the equipment not working), Russel banging out hartcore riffs. They had to leave it in the end and not play the song.
Usually, I would be bitterly disappointed as it could have been one of my favourite Bloc Party songs.

It was their new single Flux.
    Which is absolute shite.
I was chuffed the equipment broke.

    ;)

Saw Foals at the after show in the button factory. Really wasn’t impressed at all. They’re like a bad version of bloc party with a liberal dash of emo. Actually the lead singer looks very similiar to a certain poster above…

What, Pedro is the lead singer in Foals?? Are you sure? It would make sense, but.

    Hardy-Har.

    He has a shit hair-cut & I have a shit hair-cut, the only similarity.
I think they’re pretty good to be honest.

Another point to make on the Bloc Party show, the music they played before they came on was brilliant. It was pretty cool seeing 10,000 people singing and dancing along to Darude - Sandstorm! :D
They also played Aphex Twin - Windowlicker, not a bad choice but I commend the mighty Battles for their choice of Aphex Twin before they came on-stage in Tripod awhile ago. They had Vordhosbn banging like a motherfucker (easily Richard’s best track).

Another band who had good chooons playing before they came on-stage was Arcade Fire. Spencer Krug/Sunset Rubdown was gearing the crowd up.

It’s important to have a good CD playing before you come on-stage.

Great playlist. I wonder what Blitzen Trapper were like on Saturday night???

I got sucked into the hype of Animal Collective last night. Never warmed to their music bit I had heard that they were great live. Still don’t get it……
BUT a kind bouncer (I should call him a doorman) let me into the Black Lips; what a band…

Concierge - I wonder too. There were a TON of acts on saturday night that i’d like to have seen - that’s the worst thing bout doing a show on saturday nights.

What were Black Lips like? I went in to have a look but The Things had just ended and Black Lips were setting up and my lack of patience got the better of me,

I only caught about fifteen minutes of the Black lips and they were fantastic. They reminded me live of Jon Spencer Blues Explosion before they became a one trick pony or the Dirtbombs. Far better than Animal Collective; I felt sorry for the two skeletons having to listen to that shite every night.

On the Mano Chao concert, the girl in my local Spar (my source of all matters Iberian/Hispanic)told me it was two thirds full.

Missed the show on Saturday cause I was at the Handsome Family (entertaining as ever). Have you heard Afghan Whigg’s version of “My World is Empty Without You”? Its about 12 years old and is deadly.

Roscoe sounds great! Wonder of thats where Midlake got the inspiration from. A covers show sounds ace. Sparklehorse have/ has a deadly version of Galveston, thats been in my head all week..
