neil mason, long time no hear, how’s the going? hope all is well with u!. As for the podcasts, heres the official word from The Management

Just a quick note on the podcasts/on demand thing. Nope, there aren’t as many podcasts as we would like, priority has to be given to the FM but its in train now. More to come.

In terms of on-demand stuff and making programmes available via Podcast; we are up against many of the same problems as many other broadcasters in that we cannot have any commercially released music in our podcasts. Its a rights issue which has been well documented.

The area of “on demand” programming and the difference between it and a podcast is a distinctly grey one at present. We certainly plan to have on demand programming available but even in our case that is tied in with rights issues which also relate to DAB transmission, DTT content and all that stuff.

We are working to sort it, but it takes time and it is not something we have any control over.

In the meantime, the Windows Media player and AAC streams are available for those outside the broadcast area. The AAC one will play with VLC, Winamp and lots of other players on PC or Mac.

That rockabilly stuff you played on Saturday night was wild. What album did you say they were from?

Great playlist although steady on with the rockabilly. It should be treated like cranberry sauce; once or twice a year and no more.

Still we’re smack bang in the middle of the best live few weeks for many a year. I started with Les Savy Fav; went very highbrow last last night and went to Ute Lemper and will stop off at Animal Collective, The National, Wilco and then a nice dose of Qui in Whelans on the 18th November.(Their album is well worth a gamble).

    Jens Lekman = Val Doonican.

maeve - it’s taken from a new Andy Weatherall album on Soma called “Sci-Fi Lo-Fi”. Some great stuff on it

concierge - dont worry, the show won’t become a greaser zone!

Go on, how good were Les Savy Fav? The big disadvantage of a Saturday night show is missing gigs like that.

Is Jens Lekman that bad? I keep knocking over his album which is always near the top of the to-be-listened to pile of CDs on the floor.

Jim. Les Savy Fav were great. Tim Harrington’s antics would be a distraction if the music was rubbish. The Pod family need to improve their sound though. It was terrible. As bad as Cat Power.

Jens Lekman? Depends if you find/found Divine Comedy hilarious. He’s for you. If you think Neil Hannon has been getting away with murder for far too long;you’ll hate him. He also has a similar nauseous accent.

One less CD to listen to, so.

So you really have no influence over the outcome of the Choice Music Awards? You should have said…

I should have included a winky face majiggy…! I’m still not sure where you stand on Morrissey though.

I’d happily stand on top of his head with a pair of steel-toe boots, if I got the chance

The William Burroughs track on your playlist, was it spoken word? Or was he singing? Maybe William Burroughs = Val Doonican ;D

Aidan - it was Burroughs speaking over music by the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy and Hal Willner from the “Spare Ass Annie” CD.
