I wish Chemical Brothers would move to the Sunday so they won’t be clashing with Beastie Boys!

Co - they’re doing 2 different sets. One will be instrumental (as per their current album The Mix-Up) and one will see them using their mics.

Of Montreal will be great, they played a great gig earlier this month. Joakim too! I’d love to see that.

btw it’s ‘Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip’, I think…

justin - corrected. Or maybe - hey, this is the summer after all where one promoter ended up with Joe Cocker instead of Jarvis Cocker - its actually an act called Dan Le Sac v Scooobius Pimp.

I was at that Of Montreal gig in Crawdaddy.

It was dismal. I didn’t know whether to go home after three songs, drink myself silly until the band actually started to sound halfway decent or buy a Nokia mobile phone from an Orange faced girl in a White jump-suit.

Of Montreal were anything but dismal, I was a sober witness to the awesome mix of glitter and depression exploding on stage.

Should be great. Not going, but still.

Don’t get me wrong - there was A LOT of people there who thought they were great.

Me? I thought it was style over substance. One too many gimmicks I just didn’t “get.”

That nokia stuff was VERY odd when the white rabbits played. Not many people there but loads of yellow pack irish models going around in boiler-suits. Dunno what THAT had to do with the music but then again I dont work in PR/marketing (thank goodness).

Anway, back to the Picnic thread. I forsee all kinds of pleasant headaches trying to catch all the bands i want to see - and all the other stuff at the festival too. Good times!

    I’m most excited about MIA.
DJ Yoda will be brilliant too.
I’ve never seen Owen Pallett live so that should be cool.
I’m guessing my time is going to be spent between Electric Arena & Foggy Notions & Pieminister. Have to get a round of paintballing in too.

MIA should be excellent live and I’m looking fwd to seeing Bat For Lashes again (they’re even better live than on record).

Then there’s the others i’ve seen before that i want to see again like Fujiya And Miyagi and Serena-Maneesh. And I know Oppenheimer and especially !!! will be worth catching.

I havent seen Malajube or Ratatat before so they’re on the hit-list. And I reckon Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip could be immense.

First time for me for a lot of them too Nialler. Have to say though - think the current UNKLE album is ridiuclously bland so I wont be rushing to see them.
A lot of people have told me that LCD are shite live - I’m hoping that’s not trus as that is how I am planning to spend the Friday night.
Anyone going to see James Murphy DJ at Antics on Wednesday?
