Ballycotton is a famous fishing village in County Cork in the southeast of Ireland. It stands on a rocky ledge overlooking the sandy beach of Ballycotton Bay, about 25 miles east of Cork City.
Moored on the port side of the Ballycotton lifeboat station is the Sarah Marie, a 33ft deep sea angling boat. The Sarah Marie can be chartered for several types of angling trips out of Ballycotton Pier.
During the summer months, up to ten anglers at a time set out from the pier for wreck, reef and shark fishing in the Celtic Sea. Typical catches also include pollock, mackerel, cod, dogfish, flatfish, ling and conger.
You can charter the Sarah Marie for an angling trip by visiting www.ballycottonangling.com. Rods, reels and tackle are available on board and times of trips are flexible. Ballycotton Village has a number of B&Bs if you are looking for overnight accommodation.
