Camping, or “glamping” (glamorous camping, for those not in the loop!), is increasingly popular with tourists and Irish people looking to take a stay-at-home holiday these days. As long as the wonderful Irish weather stays on your side, camping has many advantages: it brings you close to nature, it is low cost and of course it’s great fun too (you have our scout’s honour!). Surprisingly, a few nights in a field can be great craic for a family, particularly if you pick the right camping grounds. We’ve done a bit of research for 2012, and if you fancy getting stuck in, here are 10 of the best camping sites in Ireland. Most of these also allow camper vans, and all of them have the fun, community spirit that is part of the reason camping is booming.
