It is situated on the Rosguill Peninsula near the village of Downings, County Donegal, it has stunning views and only minutes from the beach. This is in a Irish speaking (Gaeltacht) area so you can practice your Irish too!
With stunning views of the coast and Tory Island, and only minutes from the beach, this hostel's location is simply enchanting. Trá and Rosann beach is about a three minute walk from the hostel and the serenity of the area make it ideal for walking, swimming and cycling.
This listed building was originally a hunting lodge designed by the famous English architect Sir Edwin Lutwens. Today, it can accommodate up to 26 people in its four, six and ten bedrooms. Guests can also make use of the self-catering facilities and family rooms available. There is also complimentary car parking available on site.
Downings is a great base for visiting Tory Island and the area’s beaches. The region is also wonderful for walking, swimming, fishing and cycling. The hostel has been described as a well-kept secret in a fantastic spot, off the beaten track but well worth a visit.
