Looking for bed and breakfast near the 02?

Dublin’s 02 venue has revitalised the entertainment and music options of the city, and put a new façade on the ailing quays at the same time. What was once a lonely, forlorn looking barn of a concert venue is now a modern, lavish, comfortable arena, supported by many new local amenities.

Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Bob Dylan, George Michael and more have all played the 02, and this seemingly never-ending list of superstars draws fans from all over the country.

Here are some of the best B&Bs and guesthouses in the area, if you’re planning to come and sing along to a few hits.

Make sure to drop into the nearby Harry’s Bar for a drink or two also.

Celtic Lodge
Talbot Street’s Celtic Lodge is adjoined to the celebrated restaurant Le Bon Crubeen, and is a short walk from O’Connell Street and the arena. The on-site Celt pub offers lively nightly music if you want to enjoy a pre-show ditty, while the guest house is complete with 29 superbly appointed bedrooms, equipped with every modern convenience.

Avondale Guesthouse
Gardiner Street and its many guesthouses and B&Bs is recognised as one of the city’s main budget accommodation areas. Avondale House is no exception, with a good breakfast, clean rooms, great value rates from €45 per night and a brilliant location that is also perfect if you’re catching a game in Croke Park.

Anchor Guesthouse
Regarded as one of Dublin’s primary guesthouses, Anchor is 200 metres from the Bus Aras Luas stop, and very close to the 02. They charge no deposit, and offer a best price guarantee so you know you’re getting great value.

The Glen Guesthouse
Designed with comfort in mind, The Glen provides inviting, spacious B&B accommodation with large rooms and a private ensuite. Breakfast is included in the rates, and these begin from around €50.

The Charles Stewart Guesthouse
A unique property in the heart of Dublin, the Charles Stewart premises has many historical connections, being the birthplace of Oliver St John Gogarty. A full Irish breakfast is included in all room rates, consisting of a delicious hot plate of bacon, egg, sausage and tomato served with toast, Irish soda bread and tea/coffee. Self-service cereal and fresh fruit and fruit juice is also available. The house is located on Parnell Square, so it’s a short hop down O’Connell Street and along the quays to the O2.
