Guests can take a short day trip to the town of Westport where they can step back in time at Westport House, famed home of pirate queen Grace O’Malley, or enjoy fun for the whole family at the adjoining Pirate Adventure Park. They can visit nearby Knock Shrine, Ireland’s national Marian shrine, or travel the short ten kilometres to Castlebar to wander the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life. Golf enthusiasts can hone their skills at the Balla Golf Club, while those interested in exploring the countryside via guided horse riding tours can visit the Croagh Patrick Stables.
