Lough Owel Lodge is just off a dual carriageway north of Mullingar Down by Lough Owel Lodge water, trees and sky will fill your eyes and feed your soul, as Aideen’s home-produced meals will feed your body.
With beautiful lake views, Lough Owel Lodge is a tranquil rural farmhouse, just 5 minutes’ drive from the market town of Mullingar. You can meet the animals (In particular Sonny and Cher our residents donkeys) on the organic farm as you walk through the idyllic farmland to the shore of the lake to watch the sailing boats.

You might fancy a game of tennis, racquets are available to finish the day or prepare to take one of the several gentle walks in the area information and maps provided and storage facilities for guests if needed. .
Trout fishing can be arranged with ghillies and boats Lough Owel Lodge is within an hour’s drive to many historical sites such as Fore Abbey, Lough Crew, Newgrange and Clonmacnoise. Strokestown house and famine museum, Corlea Trackway Visitor Centre and Locke’s distillery are all well worth a visit.
Looking out over the tennis court, rolling countryside and on to the lake every room at Lough Owel Lodge is bright and spacious with free Wi-Fi. Some rooms boast a four-poster bed, interconnecting rooms, or historic family antiques including an ornate half-tester bed and a Chinese tapestry.
Fresh-prepared and home-made, breakfasts are provided each morning and include full Irish breakfasts, pancakes, a continental selection, and fresh tea, coffee and bread and scones.
Mullingar a busy market town is just five minutes away and Dublin can be reached in an hour by car or take a train right into the centre.
