Donaghmore Famine Workhouse is just up the road. This really takes you back in time to our eerie past.
When staying you can play golf on any one of five course within 30 minutes drive, fish on our local rivers, or take a stroll in the lovely woodlands of Laois. An exciting new childrens playground is now opened in Rathdowney.
Castletown House is recommended by Brittany ferries, Dillard Causin, Frommers etc.
All rooms are en-suite one of which is a family room with one double and two single beds, each room have TV. complimentary Tea/Coffee is served on arrival and there is tea/coffee making facilities in the dining room at all times. Castletown House has ample car parking facilities, and a garden for visitors use.
There is an outdoor games room for children.
