Castletown House is a beautifully restored, early 18th Century, three-star award winning home from home. There are remains of a Norman Castle on grounds. Castletown House is within walking distance of Donaghmore Village.

Castletown House is a beautifully restored, early 18th Century, three-star award winning home-from-home. There are remains of a Norman Castle on the grounds.

Castletown House is a three-star, Triple Award-Winning Country House and is recommended by various travel writers including Brittany ferries, Dillard Causin, Frommers etc.

All rooms are en suite, one of which is a family room with one double and two single beds. Each room has a TV., with free Wifi for guests.

Complimentary tea or coffee is served on arrival and there is tea and coffee making facilities in the dining room at all times.

Castletown House is within walking distance of Donaghmore Village, which was the setting for the film “All Things Bright and Beautiful” written and directed by Barry Devlin.

Donaghmore Famine Workhouse is just up the road. This really takes you back in time to our eerie past.

When staying in Castletown House, there are five golf courses within 30 minutes drive, an opportunity to go fishing on the local rivers, or an ability to take a stroll in the lovely woodlands of Laois.

An exciting new childrens' playground is now open in Rathdowney.

Castletown House offers ample free parking for guests. There is a garden for visitors use and an outdoor games room for children.
