Wandesforde House was caused to be built in 1824 as a school, by the Duchess of Ormonde. It is now a charming bed and breakfast accommodation, located just 20 minutes drive from Kilkenny City.

Wandesforde House is an ideal base for exploring the South East region. It is four kilometres from the picturesque and historic town of Castlecomer, laid out in the 17th century by Christopher Wandesford. Visitors can discover more about the history and heritage of the area, including a visit to some of Irelands top craftspeople in the wonderfully-restored stables of the Castlecomer Estate.
The Discovery Park, set in the former grounds of the Wandesforde Estate, comprises 80 acres of stunning natural woodland and lakes where visitors can wander and explore six kilometres of trails. These trails meander through the park and along the lake shore, where can be found fishing and boating available on the lakes.
Wandesforde House is 20 kilometres from Kilkenny City, renowned for its' medieval history and heritage. The city is a compact showcase where visitors can see almost everything by foot in a couple of hours.
