Scoring’s never been easier with World Football at ireland.com

Who was the leading goal scorer in the 1994/95 Premiership? Who were the top boys from Brazil in 1971? Find the answers to these questions as ireland.com brings soccer to your desktop with the launch of World Football.

ireland.com’s guide to the world of soccer contains news and information on the Premiership, League of Ireland, World Leagues, International Cups and Euro 2000. World Football comprises an extensive database (around one million entries) providing comprehensive, easily navigable coverage of all things football and can be accessed at http://www.ireland.com/sports/soccer.

The Premiership area contains facts and figures dating back to 1992 including all the results, scorers, league tables, own goal tables, penalty tables, referee information, yellow and red card statistics as well as detailed player and manager pages. All the latest news and results are also available plus head-to-head information which gives every result for any two premiership teams that have played against each other in English league matches.

The site also has all the latest news, results, league tables, leading scorers and group tables for League of Ireland, World Leagues, International Cups and Euro 2000.

Row Z View is an interactive area for soccer fans and contains:

  • Talk Football discussion forums (only for the desensitised and thick-skinned!)
  • Daily polls which allow users to give their reactions
  • Best Buy Vote: users choose who they think will be the best buy of the season (Davor Suker – good value for money at £3.5m?)
  • The Full 90: a football quiz
  • Irreverent columns such as Planet Football from Mary Hannigan and Sweet FA
